I love reverse psychology

Reverse Psychology
Definition from Wikipedia: a persuasion technique that involves the false advocacy of a belief or behavior contrary to the belief or behavior that is actually being advocated

Example:

From the Simpsons
Homer's Brain: Don't you get it? You've gotta use reverse psychology!
Homer: (Whining) That sounds too complicated.
Homer's Brain: OK, don't use reverse psychology.
Homer: (Insulted) All right, I will (use reverse psychology)!

First signs of reverse psychology misuse:

Rants

Just a short post on a series of unfortunate events.

Got to UTAR 2 hours before my scheduled interview. Decided to look around. Lazy to take the stairs, since they have 2 huge elevators and narrow stairs. Door closed. Shouldn't it be moving? Ah, there's where the fun part starts. The intercom in the lift began to buzz, and my mom started to freak out. I pressed on the emergency button, but I seriously doubt anyone would be hearing us. Luckily after a minute, the lift opened by itself.

There are, of course, 2 ways to look at this incident:
1. I was unfortunate, the lift did work for others.
2. I was lucky, the lift opened by itself.

Given my pessimistic nature, of course I would be thinking about the first one.

Fine, the lift is not an issue anymore, I would be taking the stairs.

Next, the interview part. Stupid me said a thousand stupid things in the interview, and even the interviewer wasn't very amused. I might be the most immature person applying to MIT, ever. To sum it all up, I just did a great job in showing him why I am not suitable for MIT and engineering.

I am still feeling the effects of my stupidity.

AARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I just noticed something.

According to a website dating 2007-2008, Tambun Cave is still accessible.

I am going to kill the security guard for telling us its closed.

I am going to kill Fatt Chi for asking the wrong person and telling me that the Tambun Cave he's talking about is the Tambun Cave I talked about.

Finally, I am going to kill myself for not being sure whether its open or not.

Stupid me....

Ipoh Trips

This could easily pass as one of the most hectic and tiring trips I've ever had. Even China isn't this tiring. Tour from 7 to midnight. Plus cannot sleep in the car. I pity Fatt Chi, having to drive us everywhere. Since Jyo is doing the updating, I am not going to parrot her.

Here's some thought on the place that we didn't have the chance to visit.

Yes, Tambun Cave.

Apparently, it is closed now, and all is left is a jungle and a snake possibly bigger than an anaconda who ate a tourist years ago.

According to this site, this cave is just spectacular.

According to an unknown source, Tambun was once a fishing village, and the fishermen drew cave pictures 2000-3000 years ago. Amazing isn't it?

There are 30 forms of paintings on the wall. They were most likely painted with haematite, a type of red colouring easily available in the area and by ancestors of the Orang Asli living around Tambun. The motifs include human, abstract and animal designs depicting their surroundings like rusa , pelanduk (types of deer), kura-kura (tortoise), dugong and a figure wearing a headdress similar to that worn by the Orang Asli. The cave also contained some neolithic artefacts but have since been removed. It is said that 'the motifs resemble those found in Papua New Guinea and Australia but it is not known if there is a direct correlation between them in terms of age and cultural links.' (The encyclopedia of Malaysia: Early History, Archipelago Press)

What appals me is that such historical site is not preserved and never promoted. Think of its potentials as a tourist destination. Now the only thing accessing it is a snake. What a waste!

And oh, instead of Tambun Cave, we have this on every brochure promoting Ipoh.

The train station. Which is only worth passing by.

BOMBS AWAY!!!!

At last...first missiles launched. Dunno will hit the target, land in the ocean or disintegrate in midair. I do not care anyway. It is gone, and I will just wait to see the results.

TOEFL is pathetic, I really didn't know why listening could be disastrous also...

Jyo is making me soooooooooo jealous.

I was holed up in the hotel room with the RM30 internet service fee when she is enjoying herself.

5 days to SAT, another one bound to be disastrous.

Gotta focus now...

Noise pollution

These few days were spent lazing around, dilly-dallying. I keep telling myself to buck up, but there is just no mood.

Anyway, I can blame the environment.

The last time I came back, they were driving piles into the ground just a street away.

This time, they are dismantling the steel tower situated across the road formally used for water reserve or whatever you call it. Dismantling the top part was torturous to me. These type of towers were built decades ago, which means they use high quality metals that weigh tonnes which I bet would bring a fortune to anyone selling them today. Before the crane came, they were throwing down the iron floor from the highest part. By calculating the weigh of the iron, the acceleration due to free fall, and the impulsive force when it hits the ground, you could estimate the sound caused by it.

A perfect excuse for me to put off my work.

The one and only landmark useful to locate my house is now almost gone. Those who want to visit my house will have a tough time locating my house, unless they have GPS.

They are dismantling the tower by taking out every bar and sheet. Slow and torturous work by hand. Lesson learnt, never build towers like this with strong materials unless you want it to last for centuries.

Home sweet home

At last. I am back in Ipoh. The holiday mood couldn't seem to set in ever since I came back. The applications and resumes keep bugging me, but sadly I don't have the mood to them. Every time I switch on my laptop, my brain just seem to get stuck. I am soooo dead.

Spent an uneventful day in school getting my teachers and counselors to do my evaluations. It really seem awkward, maybe even fake, as the counselor doesn't know me. In fact, she berated me for not establishing a rapport with her earlier... Anyway, it's done, and the job is up to me now.

Currently very bored...not because of nothing to do, I am too lazy to look at the materials. As I said, I hate introspection. And the Form 6 people do not have their break yet. And my darling is not online and I cannot kacau him....

So here am I, writing rubbish, polishing my skills to be the next Hammufarabi...

Speaking of him, I'm starting to think of my pathetic finals...

I am so dead.

I'm beginning to doubt myself.

Hysteria

3 days until the finals, I am still lazing around, taking my own sweet time.

However, this is unlike other times, where I could have easily found some reasons not to do well.

This time, I shall show narcissistic people that the battle does not end here.

It is do or die.

Recent Discoveries

I recently discovered something about Nilai. The authorities seem to start work on about 6pm. I have two evidence for supporting this.

First day. When we were walking to the shops outside, we noticed that fogging was done somewhere near the first few shops. Hence, we decided to go to the last shop for dinner. Just as we thought we had avoided having dinner at a place full of insecticide, the health ministry van drove by. And they started fogging the next shop after 5 minutes. Mind you, that was a time people had their dinner. Can't they find a better time? I'm sure nobody wants to have their dinner in the midst of insecticide. Sadly, our plight was not noticed. All that I thought about at that instant was to finish my food and get the hell out of there. As a result, I swallowed everything and nearly had ingestion. The act of fogging to get rid of mosquitoes is noble, but when it interferes with other people's health, it is certainly not. Imagine eating noodles mixed with insecticide.

Second day. Now, this is interesting. It's so interesting that I have to find time to blog about this though I'm busy like hell. We thought we could have some peaceful dinner today, so we complied to Su Jia's request that we have dinner in the middle shop because of its 'ambiance'. Halfway through the meal, the city council people came to confiscate the tables and chairs in the middle of the road in throngs. They even had 2 big lorries blocking the entrance to the road. There goes my peaceful dinner. The shop owners came to tell us to continue eating, so that they cannot remove the tables that we were occupying. It was certainly a sight. Almost like a live TV show. Now, what surprises me the most is that those people were working overtime! Incredible! Working overtime to remove tables!

I just love Nilai.

I Love Lim Ho Peng

I was enveloped in a sense of euphoria the whole day. The first time in college, I can't wait to fly off to class. Well, this is certainly a meaningful day. 14 people wearing the same shirts with alphabets isn't a sight that u see every day. The big day is Dr. Lim's last class. Well, I think we certainly managed to make other classes jealous. At an event as important as this, photographs are a must.

Besides the shirt plan, which nearly blew up when Dr. Lim saw us at the stairs, we also submitted our assignments in advance. That should have caught him off guard.

The last event was the performance for Auld Lang Syne, directed by Kia Haow. The whole farewell was meaningful, but sadly we did not make Dr. Lim cry.

Sadly, I am too lazy to post pictures due to the heavy workload. I might edit this later. In the meantime, those who are interested please go here.

Time flies like an arrow

Psychology test is approaching. I have to study. I don't understand. I hate that smelly book. It makes me have runny nose. I feel like going to sleep...wait, something caught my eye.

"There were all sorts of weird insects in this place-space flies, gravity flies, and time flies. They all eat wood, but each fly likes a different kind. Space flies like to eat a desk. Most gravity flies like chairs. Time flies like an arrow."

Though I really do not understand what the author wanted to imply through this example, it was funny. Well, the main idea would be we can treat expressions which have multiple meanings...or something like that.

A friend is flying off to Russia in 5 days, I'm going to miss her. 6 years, that's a very long time. I wonder what would she look like after 6 years in Russia. Sadly, I don't have the chance to meet her before she leaves.

Well, that's life. I'm still stuck here, not knowing what my future holds. I'm pretty certain of the outcome of my psychology test though.

Laughter...the best medicine

Hahahahaha….

The following is an encrpted code devised on 13 September. We are currently testing the effectiveness of the code. Hence, anyone who manage to break the code please inform me, so that we can make some improvements to it. We sincerely thank all of you for your cooperation.

Temptations

In dealing with temptations, I agree with determinists. Things in life happen for a cause, to some extent, of course. As determinists have stated, we cannot run from temptations. The possible solutions are only illusions. Therefore, there is no escape from temptations. I find this particularly correct in college life, as again, although this is already the time to make haste, I still couldn't resist certain temptations and I am still dawdling. After indulging in those unbeneficial activities, I do feel guilty. But what to do, time has passed and what good is it to feel regret?

Another interesting viewpoint. Apparently, psychologists also think that persistence or a lack of persistence is actually imfluenced by the sense of self-efficacy, which actually means the perception of performing a task easily. So, due to my lack of persistence, I can conclude that I failed to achieve self-efficacy. Hmm...maybe I should change my perception. Perhaps I could try to trick my mind into believing that I can overcome temptations and increases my self-efficacy. Perhaps then, I can solve the problem of temptations...

Insomnia

Sigh...The first and only thing that I can think about today is how my precious, important sleep is ruined by mosquitoes. I woke up in the middle of the night to find both of my hands being severely attacked by mosquitoes. It was so itchy that I just could not go back to sleep. So, I did the only thing to prevent more casualties, I applied thick cream to my hands and face. But still couldn't get back to sleep.

The group discussion at 10 forced me to wake up. What a dreadful, long day. At least the discussion went well. But a stomach pain begin gnawing at me since 1030, and I was practically dragging myself all the way to the AUP office. After that, all I wanted to do was to sit down and sleep. Sure enough, there was chance for me to do so as the computer was occupied and the server was super duper sloooooow. Things that could be done in 5 minutes end up taking us 2 hours. While we were waiting, I went to collect the books. I actually had a bad omen before reaching the printing shop, and sure enough, that man printed an extra book. You would think that was fine, but it was not! I was charged for it! Now I have to find someone to sell the book, or I will have to finish 15 Maths2 practice test, 8 chemistry, and 8 physics, not to mention about 15 SAT1 practice tests in 2 months. Crazy eh?

Fortunately, the lecturer took leave. So, I was spared of sitting in class for 2 hours with a tummy ache and at the same time wondering how am I going to juggle so many things at one time.

Now, I'd better get my CSC assignment finished to get one worry out of my mind.

Catastrophic mid semester

This is why I hate examinations. After the mid semester for English Composition, I feel like tearing up the whole paper and rewriting it. Yes, it was that bad. Half way through the second section, I was literally on the verge of throwing up. The points are not only disconnected, they are also repeating themselves. I could well imagine my revered professor's tone when he would announce in the next class 'there's was one student who did this...I don't know why she is so stubborn...the SAT is going to kill her'.

Aaarrrrggggghhhhhh! I'm so dead!

This is really really frustrating. Everytime I get a question, I just get stuck. And now I have to live in doubt, not knowing if I had blew up my damn important mid semester test.

Another test is coming up, and I have absolutely no confidence in it. The truth is, I have forgotten everything that I have read before, thanks to a holiday spent entirely with the TV.

Anyway, I still have a good whole day tomorrow to study. That's a great consolation, though my foresight on what is going to happen on a free day never fails.

Dreams. Good or bad?

I recently encountered an essay prompt about whether dreams obstructs or helps us. Plus, I have got to know few people's view on dreams. Though I do not agree on some of them, they have their own reasons to think like that. I personally think dreams gives us the drive to work harder, to achieve the impossible. Sometimes, I might think too practically, and therefore did not attempt nor gave any thought to some challenging things. But when the situation permits or rather forces me to dream, I do not think it is a bad thing either. I actually feel priviledged to have the chance to dream.

After some introspection, I can say confidently that I am really a dreamer. I do sometimes dream of goals too high. Many successes in the history of mankind had actually came from dreams thought to be too impractical. How I wish I could use that as a reason to dream. Unfortunately, my situation has a signifiant difference. I am a dreamer, a pure dreamer. I fantasize, but I do not take action.

That is why again, I feel guilty these few days because the mock is coming up and I am still spending excessive time with computer games. Sigh...Another Saturday passed again without productivity.

Now, I really could not think of anything else besides the beautiful one week holiday that strecthes before me...

Myopic people

First, let me clarify. I am not an extremist or a fanatic, nor am I someone as revered as Mother Theresa. I just wish I could do my part in conserving the environment. Hence, I am baffled at how some myopic people reacted when environmental issues came up. Surprisingly, actually not too surprising, the years of education including topics on the environment in subjects like geography, science and moral fail to leave any impression on some people.

That was how the heated discussion between two "environmentalists" and two "don't cares" happened.

At least I can practice debating in English. I have definitely met my match as they kept on producing unreasonable examples that left me speechless and shocked. Another realization also dawned on me. The inability to focus is definitely innate. The evidence: the two defenders kept on deviating from the topic.

Now, the mock SAT is just few days away. And I still could not figure out how my essay is to be written. Plus, there were few contradictory views from two lecturers.

And there is the Class Assessment today again. I feel so sleepy now that I feel my brain is refusing to work. I wonder what masterpiece would I produce this afternoon. Preferably not something worth a big red X.

Good luck to me.

Feeling quite nostalgic today. Really looking forward to the holidays. I kind of miss trips.
So, I decided to post some pictures that I had taken during last year's trip.

This picture gives me the feeling of returning home before twilight.

I like the effect caused by the reflection of the water.

Snowing? Raining?

The best picture to represent WuZhen, the Eastern Venice.

Ah, Shanghai. The "ancient" parts of the city feature many old and western architecture.

1. I don't eat prawns, no matter it is dried or fresh. Not that i am allergic, I just don't like it.

2. I am a very very punctual person. That's why I detest anyone who makes me wait long.

3. I love bombarding friends with weird math questions and making them confused.

4. When I am not in the mood to talk, anyone who disrupts the silence gets on my nerve.

5. I am very particular about bathroom cleanliness. Sometimes too particular.

6. I cannot run. Try racing with me and you'll know what I mean.

7. In contrary to some people that I know, I have a good sense of smell. For example, I can smell the smell of fuji apples few meters away.

8. I am a bad speaker. My thoughts become disorganized whenever I try public speaking and nonsense come pouring out.

9. I am very conscious on what people think of me. Hence I would not post anything too extreme lest they think I have some kind of psychological disorder.

10. If I want certain things done I would like them to be done immediately.

11. I'm obsessed with my nails whenever I am bored or nervous.

12. I love sleeping. The only thing I think about everyday is sleeping and napping. I cannot remember anything if I am woken up from my by something, meaning if I did not wake up by myself. For instance I would not remember turning off the alarm and going back to sleep. Or if I am woken up by the phone, I will not comprehend nor will I remember what I said.

13. The one thing I notice most about people is their eyes. I have a special fondness for people with big eyes.

14. I love Warcraft and other strategy games. Not weird to me, but some people think it is very weird.

15. Finally! I hate to introspect on my life. Hence I suffer when I am cracking my head for weird stuff. By the way, I don't think I am weird. How am I suppose to know if I am weird if it is my habit, unless someone else tells me? Get what I mean?

I'm going to tag dai lou. Its high time you write something in your blog.

Another weekend

A much anticipated time of the week. I often look forward to Friday nights, and on Sunday nights like this, I feel a sense of dread, as a whole new week streches before me. Next, I also feel guilty because I haven't been productive this weekend again, for I spent too much time with my laptop.

For the SAT, I am more and more frustrated as my scores decline by the chapter. At least I know which part is my weakest part now. I tend to get half wrong in the sentence error part and passages regarding American Constitutions and political issues continue to baffle me no matter how hard and careful I read the passage.

As for the essay part, I have no idea what am I going to do during the mock test. Now if I try to write an essay, I will end up daydreaming because the ideas just can't seem to form in my mind. As for my vocab, those in my essays are hackneyed, anyone would feel like dozing off before finishing reading it. I really am not eloquent.

The decline in scores are also not exactly a great motivation. In fact, after correcting sections with uncountable crosses, I resolve to playing computer games to relieve the frustration. I have the feeling that my "improvement" has been such a rate that if it happens in out society, we would be arboreal people.

Hey! Don't those contradict with my stand in the SAT essay-"complaining is pointless"? Maybe I should change my thesis. After all, complaining helps relieve stress and prevents me from having any night terrors or sleepwalking episodes.

Apart from enjoying college life...

Had the first TOEFL class yesterday. It was flawless in trying to build up stress. With all the obscure past year questions, I could well imagine what kind of situation I would have been if it was presented to me in the real test. With two test coming up, I really couldn't find any anodyne or any assurance that I am really prepared. Sigh...back to the essays, I know the way of writing is significantly different from what we have previous did in high school. And I had trouble in finding apposite examples to fit into my essay to be convincible enough like the ones the lecturer read out in class.

Now, what I need is celerity in my studies. Unfortunately, as a believer of determinism had argued, we cannot resist temptations. The mood of studying is still not here.

Therefore, we still had time to spin grandmother tales from various rumors. Kinda love that. It was really entertaining. Free soap operas with live telecast. With some of the best narrators, that was fantastic. Deriding people still had been the culture during meals.

Great stress reliever, or else I'll go nuts.

By the way, I found out that more and more blogs are comprised of SAT words these days.

Of potatoes and other things

What a great way to start ENL. Firstly, we went into the wrong class.... That was soooooooo embarassing. Everyone was looking at us. And I bet the lecturer had a funny look on his face.
Haha.

I never had such a fun class. Our lecturer told us to write a sentence about living in America and pass the paper round the class so everyone would contribute a sentence to it. My two classmates beside me started to write riddiculously funny things, and I have to crack my head to continue with the next sentence. For example, when they said they wanted to know blondies, or improve on kissing, I really had a headache. I couldn't contain myself when they wrote they wanted to swim in the river and catch piranhas for barbecue. Or the time when they started talking bout adjusting to the temperature in America, they proposed swimming topless, sleeping topless with air-con on...And I continued with bathing in ice cold water.

I had a laughing fit when my paper came back.

The last few sentences goes like this:
Americans have potato for dinner. This is a problem for me as I am allergic to potato. There was once I fainted after eating potatoes. This is because eating potatoes makes me feel like one. But I am the most expensive potato in the world where nobody can afford me.

Haha.

Crazy games

Without the TOEFL class, we were quite free today. Hence, we did not hesitate when our dear big bro Justin called us out for a game of frisbee.

How could I be so reckless?

I am fully aware of my ability in the field of sports. Since young, I was pathetic in all aspects of sports, even in school, I barely managed to scrape a pass in my Physical Education assessment.

I should have predicted the outcome after playing such a "rough" game.

No doubt I was terrible in throwing, and my catching was "fantastic". I could well imagine Justin the pro's exasperation at watching me play. Have some patience, Justin.

In the end, Jyo and I sustained multiple injuries to our hands. Though the practice was catastrophic, I actually felt quite good as there were not much chances for me to play any games except computer games.

After being disappointed as the sports hall was not open, we decided to have our own private game of ping pong anyway. You may be asking how did we do it. Well, we divised a whole new game that would make the inventor of table tennis proud. We use the door as something like a squash wall, and use the ball to hit it. So it was actually something like miniature squash+ping pong.

It was great exercise, if you ask me, as we could not stop laughing.

Hence, I summarise today as a day with plenty of crazy games.

Long live Warcraft!

My love with Warcraft started when I was in primary school. That was when my friends and I become skilled in Warcraft II. Then 3 or 4 years ago, I played Warcraft III, but not such enthusiasm as there were many more interesting strategy games. I have not played this game for more than 2 years. You could expect how ecstatic I was when I found out that I could download this game here not only for free, but also fast.

Wonder how I could be so free? As everyone knows, we have been studying like hell for the past few days for the upcoming psychology test. Naturally, I would want to rest after having faced such a stressful subject for so long. So, I am now telling myself, rest for few days and then only continue studying. That's me, procrastinating again. I know what's wrong with me, I would try hard to keep my promise.

Well, something about the psychology test. He gave us one and a half hours for the test, but only half an hour had past and I had nothing to write already. Sigh... I could well imagine what my test would look like as I saw most of the people writing novels.

In order not to dwell on such pathetic things, I'd better go back to my Warcraft game.

Long ago in a university college far far away...

Long ago in a place to study, the dark lord set several traps in his galactic empire.

Firstly, he introduced the computer and laptop. Next, the internet. Subsequently, msn.

We in the republic, actually have jobs to do. Mainly study. Due to some flaws in the system, rebel scums like me emerge.

For example, I should be studying for my test tonight. I really feared the test. But fear leads to confusion, confusion leads to anger, and anger leads to the dark side. Yes, I am seduced by the dark side.

In the afternoon, I really cannot resist Lord Vader(DC++)'s influence. So, I began searching for things to download. Then, even the Emperor could not influence me. I really need to get some sleep!

After dinner, we were really, SERIOUSLY studying. Until Su Jia came. We began to have long talks to overthrow the emperor.

And now, I can't resist the temptation. And so here am I, blogging and hoping my mind won't go blank tomorrow during the test.

May the force be with us.

King Edward dethroned

Psychology- the systematic study of behaviour and experience.

Though it was not so systematic in my studies. Damn hard to remember all facts. Have few questions in mind. Luckily King Edward helped enlighten me.

Wonder how he got the name? Today, I found out that his fame has spreaded even until the next block people heard of his LIGHTNING FAST accomplishment.

Today, I got some lessons. First of all, I observed that a single human error could leave devastating effects. And the human error stems from forgetting things when one has too many things in the mind.

The story goes like this. The hawker food seller forgotten Beng's order, resulting in his food coming the last. Normally, it would just be... normal, but today, with the King going to show his expertise, this proved to be a major setback for the King. So, being I think 30 minutes late, Beng beat the King. Though I have confidence in Edward to regain the throne as he still proved to be the last after finishing his drink.

Don't stress, don't stress, don't stress

Someone had the ingenius idea of coining new words. One of the words is edward=languid(no reference to anybody). It was quite interesting. Gives us something to think about besides the upcoming tests.

Luckily we have a day off this week, or else I'm going to make my lecturer's job easier when marking my paper. Had some bad news today, one of my lecturers will be away, though I'm looking forward to my dear lecturer taking over our class.

Going to have another test afterwards. Better stop and focus now.

disastrous assessment

The assessment was a real calamity. Thought I thought it would be casual writing, there were many traps. Not even sure the motive of the test was genuine. According to the course structure, there was no assessment counted in our final marks. That was certainly an optimistic me crapping. As all of us know, my dear proffesor is strict and sticks to every rule, so I could hardly give myself any reason to doubt him.

Back to the assessment, I was lucky because I did read the question and noticed the word EACH that practically determines our fate. Unfortunately, I only saw the "more than 10 words" just before he said times up. I added few words in inappropriate places, and some I did not even have the time to add. As I recall back, I wonder why I could be such a fool. There was plenty time before I handed in my paper. I could have just added some crap which would maybe earn me few more marks. Now, I could only hope he has some disorder in counting so he would not notice my mistake.

Next, one of the question is about attitude. I really do not know what falls into that category, so the whole paragraph was rubbish again. Now, let's hope he has a memory disorder so he would not remember he put down the "ATTITUDE" word.

Really, maybe I should have hoped that he would be more lenient, but that would just be as hard as him getting the various disorders.

In case someone questions my loyalty to the big brother above me or my college, let me add that I still love my dear lecturer.

Bad luck

Few things happened recently that I did not find them to my liking. Firstly, the announcement of another test, the calculus test. Frankly, I really do not think I fully understand certain parts. For example the assignment which I still could not figure out a question yet. And the calculus test is very very near to the SAT mock test, which technically defines our future. And that would mean more stress, less freedom.

Next, I did my English assignment very early compared to others and I mailed it. Now, I found out that I did it wrongly and I could not change it because my dear professor has already read it. So now, I am waiting to be shouted at. Not a very nice feeling, I can assure you.

Moreover, today is our assessment for English. I just hope my venerable proffessor would save the critism for later, or my mood will be spoiled and I do not know what will happen during the test.

Happy Thursday!

I woke up today feeling extremely happy. It's Thursday, which practically means relaxation day to me. Went to Golden Lecturer Award yesterday, let me recall some of the interesting events.

The one thing I learned from the various events in INTI is that you are expected to be late. As punctual people, my roomate and I reached in time to have a nice long wait, luckily there were snacks given to kill the boredom so I will not complain too much. Fortunately, it ended early, or my blog would me painfully long due to the various complains on punctuality. Looks could fool people. I got the opportunity see few lecturers that we seldom see, who were quite interesting. The first one is really adorable, I couldn't imagine he is a lecturer, he looked so young! Another also looks quite young, and he is already a doctor!

Talking about punctuality, we were never late to class, because we stared preparing 75 minutes earlier. Haha, I am a braggart.

Talking about today again, class has finished. Yay! Now, I'd better start thinking about what to write about people searching for hapiness. Any ideas?

Study, study

Sometimes, examinations could be so efficacious. We have always been querulous when it comes to the value of examinations. This issue is not morass as I have previously thought, as I now fully realized how I could be driven by it, or maybe insinuate, we would only work when there were exams.

Yesterday was a great example. I generally am a thrifty person, I do not spend much and I definitely am not happy at buying a brand new textbook, which costs me an arm and a leg. Nontheless I did it without much complain, just after our lecturer told us that we would have a quiz next week. You can call me realistic or whatever, but I now think that buying the textbook is inevitable.

Ah, the power of examinations...

Sunday

Sunday is normally a quiet day here; this day is different. This is the day my parents came to visit. Before this, I had thought our reunion would be a quiet, happy one, but I underestimated what degree of hysteria parents would be after not seeing their daughter for three weeks.
I may sound cruel, but that was what I felt when they keep on nagging, nagging, and nagging. Trying to give some outdated advice on how to behave, blah blah blah. Just kidding. It was fun.

Next we went to summit for a church service. It was a good experience. Everyone was having fun in the beginning, and during the service, I saw several devout christians, saw how they conduct their service, which was very different from other solemn ones, as this was mainly for youngsters. Then, I was quite touched when someone offered to pray for me. People there were also very warm and friendly. Anyway we also got freebies.

When we came back we had fresh Anson biscuits waiting for us.

What a day!

Back again...

Another late night yesterday, plus it rained this morning, making the conditions ideal for a longer snooze. Unfortunately, my class starts at 8am, and reluctant as I am, I dragged myself up. Looked at the timetable...

Sigh... another long day ahead. The day seems to get worse. Firstly, it seems that our psychology proposal needs some corrections doing, and my teammates and I are not really the type that bond really well. When we were cracking heads trying to come out with the proposal, I have a feeling that we weren't the perfect team. I just feel a little...bored. Looks like I have to brush up my communication skills, memorise a few jokes and hope that would work out next time we meet.

Now, there are precisely 2hours16mintues before my FAVOURITE class, I'd better start bracing myself for some harsh words.

Looking to the bright side, it's Friday and there are two days of relaxation ahead, and mum's coming down, pretty cool, isn't it?

I am surely looking forward to the arrival of 7 o'clock...

Trip to Putrajaya

Finally, we got our trip. The main reason I was looking forward for it is that it is FREE! Completely FREE! It is high time we got somewhere to escape from our mundane lifestlye.
Uh-oh...That's me, sounding melancholy again. It's not like we have nothing to do here, only I feel a little trapped. My mother would surely admonish me for spending more time in fun-seeking. We went for a movie, the Journey to the Centre of the Earth. It was exciting, especially the part where they were sailing through an ocean and met carnivorous fish and behemoths in the water. I did enjoy the movie, not so much the supper, it was a little too late.
Today does not seem like a good day for writing. Therefore I shall retreat now, until I have more ideas.
Meanwhile, a journey to slumberland seems very inviting...

Writing

Writing, writing, writng... proffesors repeat it, students detest it. Yesterday, our dear professor berated us for our mediocre writing...again. Not that I could help it, but my mind went blank the second I am told to write an essay.
I do admire those who had information and dictonaries stored in their brains and could extract it whenever they want. That would surely make writing so much less painful. Everyone is emphasizing the importance of praticing writing now. If we had the time. I have to emphasize the IF. We have to prepare for the SAT which also means practice, not to mention trying to cram lists and lists of cryptic words which I have never seen or attempt to use into my head.
Now, if I had the brain of someone who scored 20A's.
I guess I am a braggart but I hope when I have finished all this, I'd be as erudite as Einstein.

a journey in the dark

Guys... such chary people... that's what i can think of to describe them. They are good at reminding us of the dangers of walking in the dark. Sure, an isolated, dark place could give you the creeps, if you have the right imagination. Yet away from the hustle and bustle, the garish light, I can fully appreciate how beautiful our surroundings are. The stars were beclouded that night, but the near perfect moon illuminated the clouds, producing a breathtaking effect. Ah, how nice it was to indulge myself in the loneliness of the night...
I know I know, I sound bovine. But forgive me, after all, this is my first post.
